Design and documentation basis for Alfa Laval test centre
Project description
Alfa Laval was to build a new world-class test centre to test Alfa Laval’s entire liquid flow product range. The test centre was designed so that components such as pumps, valves, instruments, tank equipment (piping, CIP nozzles, sight glass), pipe heat exchangers/plate heat exchangers and mixers can be exposed to stress within flow, pressure, temperature (both surroundings and media) and media.
The process
Process Engineering made the working drawing and updated the layout, the PI Diagram and 3D design according to the client’s wishes and also supplied the entire documentation basis. An intelligent database was built up to ensure there is a link between the PI Diagram and the component list, and we prepared a 3D drawing of the pipe installations and placement of tanks and process units. Special test racks were designed to test Alfa Laval’s entire product portfolio.
