Project description

Installation of extra equipment for the existing heat treatment system for further heat treatment of parts of the distilled tar product.

Our assignment was about designing the process by means of a PI diagram and about specifying process equipment, including tanks, a reactor, pumps, an exchanger, an electric heater and electricity supply plus valves, safety valves and instruments. In addition, we designed the plant in 2D and 3D in order to achieve the optimum placement of equipment, pipes and valves.

The process

Process Engineering was responsible for a PI diagram and for 3D design plus documentation and installation of the plant.

In partnership with the customer, we handled dimensioning and purchasing of pumps, valves, instruments, an electric heater, tanks and safety components.

Our project manager planned, evaluated and coordinated the activities and also managed the time schedule, the economy and a risk analysis. While the installation was ongoing, we were responsible for evaluation, implementation and updating of documentation/PI diagram and for 3D of the customer’s requirements and additions to the process.
